Do I need a referral from my GP to see a physiotherapist?

No, you do not need a doctor's referral to see a physiotherapist. If however your Physiotherapy Treatment will be covered by WorkCover or DVA then a referral is necessary.

Is physiotherapy covered by Medicare?

Physiotherapy is only covered by Medicare if you have an Enhanced Primary Care Plan (EPC) from your doctor. This allows you to claim through Medicare for up to 5 physiotherapy visits per calendar year. Please bring your care plan to your physiotherapy appointment.

How many sessions will I need and how much will they cost?

The number of sessions needed and the cost can vary depending on your condition and treatment plan. Your physiotherapist will discuss this with you during your initial appointment. Our prices can be found on our Services page.

Do you accept private health insurance?

Yes, we accept all major health funds.

If your private health does partially cover your physiotherapy sessions, we can process the claim right here in the practice for you via our HICAPS system

What should I expect from my initial physiotherapy session?

During your initial appointment, your physiotherapist will take a thorough history to understand what is going on, assess your condition, develop a treatment plan tailored to your needs and start your treatment.
